Message “Leading when you feel least qualified”
Scripture
Exodus 6:6-12
Quick thought:
2 Corinthians 12: 9-10: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
Meditation
Doing God’s will despite our inadequacies
Every one of us feels inadequate when we come to think of our calling… I don’t know the things that God has placed on you heart to do. What do you think is the greatest hindrance your mission? What makes you feel unqualified for the task that God has called you to do? Your task my not be as great as that of Moses – to lead an entire nation from captivity. It could be as humble as being a friend to a not-so-lovable neighbor or workmate. It might be helping with some of the tasks in the church or this English ministry – say leading a Bible study group; it could be sharing the love of Jesus Christ to some people or even one person in your neighborhood, or feeding the hungry…
However big or small our calling may seem to be, the bottom line is that we cannot do it alone; we need God’s help. So, instead of giving up, look up!
